STRENGTH is not just about the ability to lift heavy weights or displaying a muscular sleek physique, it is about having the muscular support to prevent injury and to advance your body to be better.  Find strength to be better at your desired sport, whether you’re a runner, tri-athlete, golfer or just want the benefits of overall strength training.

Because our bodies are designed to move, Vigor offers functional training.  This type of training is designed around movement patterns rather than just isolated training.  It also helps to improve posture, core strength, fat burning, stability, and muscle tone and can be tailored towards specific sports goals.

Strength training produces many benefits for all types of athletes, but can also provide overall health benefits such as:

ENDURANCE is the ability to do something difficult for a long time.

Can you push through a plateau?  Sure you can!  Endurance is about perseverance and pushing through with mental strength.   Just as your body wants to quit, your mind kicks in and pushes you to that next level.  Endurance at Vigor is found in spinning and group circuit training classes incorporating HIIT, High Intensity Interval Training.  There are psychological benefits with this type of training boosting endorphins, dopamine and serotonin.  In addition to the social support and sense of community, the health and fitness gains keep people out of the medical care system. 

According to the official US Physical Activity Guidelines, the recommended physical activity for adults is defined as 150 minutes/week of moderate intensity activity or 75 minutes of vigorous activity per week.  We’ve got your 75 minutes+ of vigorous activity covered!  All it takes is a few classes per week.

RESTORE. To reap the benefits of all the hard work you put your body through, it is very important to restore it.  Be kind to your body by restoring it with yoga, myofascial release and cutting edge techniques developed to repair and restore the muscles.  Vigor offers and partners with resources designed to improve athletic performance and conditioning, speed up recovery and maintain peak performance.  Yoga will increase your flexibility and range of motion.  It also builds body awareness, while helping to optimize your form during workouts and prevent injury.  Utilizing yoga during active recovery can actually repair muscle fibers more quickly.

Infrared Therapy is also offered at Vigor.  This is a great compliment to your fitness regime. Infrared Therapy offers many benefits including detoxification, pain relief, weight loss, lowers blood pressure, improves circulation and skin purification.
